The Work
Keep AI safe, starting with children
Four jobs, in the order Bob puts them: test the AI children actually use, through an independent nonprofit he supports; build AI for children that stays inside its bounds, through a company he co-founded; bring faith leaders and scientists to one table, through a convening he is assembling; and show AI doing good in medicine, through a company outside the children's work. And, apart from them, an investment firm he co-founded with Yarin Kirchen, whose story began as a way to fund the nonprofit's work. Each is separate, with its own leaders and its own governance, and all of them are early.
Independent nonprofit
Keep AI Safe
An independent nonprofit that tests and rates the AI products children use.
Children's safety in the age of AI is, in his words, “the very reason I came out of retirement.” He co-founded Keep AI Safe and is one of its principal funders; its judgments are its own.
Children's AI company
Boundlia
Formerly Safe AI Talking Toys · Bounded
Helping companies define, test and manage the boundaries of AI in children's products.
He holds that for children under 13 “the only safe option is a bounded system,” and that good enough is not good enough where a child is concerned.

Proposed interfaith and scientific convening
The Dignity Accords
A statement he hopes faith leaders and scientists will write and sign together: AI must serve human dignity and never harm children.
Of the children's session he hopes the convening will hold, Bob says: “This is the part of the work closest to my heart.” And the reason beneath it: “We are doing this for our grandchildren and for yours.”
Medical research company
Medical Discoveries
Turning the notes doctors already write into structured evidence for research.
This is his AI-for-good work, outside the children's safety effort. “We are using AI to improve the quality of human existence…” he says, and he credits the idea to research methods his son, a physician-scientist, uses.

Private investment firm
Beacon Harbor Capital
A systematic investment firm whose decisions follow rules written down in advance. Separate from the children's-safety work.
Bob spent his working life pricing risk. Beacon Harbor is where that craft meets investing, and he describes his own part as “the inspiration and original concept creator.” It is separate from his children's-safety work.
